Interactive Generations, the EducaRed forum that investigates the use of new technologies by children and teenagers, invites schools to take part in the project
Buenos Aires, 7th July 2010. Interactive Generations, the Fundación Telefónica research programme into the use of new technologies by children and teenagers, invites schools to take part in a study being carried out by Fundación Telefónica, the University of Navarre and the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education
The aim of the study is to ascertain the scenario in which children and young people between the ages of 6 and 18 act in Ibero-American schools. In order to do so, students must fill in an online questionnaire to verify which screens they use, how they do so, what they use them for, and how these technologies influence their family and school lives.
The data are gathered in each school using computer rooms with internet connection. It takes between 20 and 25 minutes for the youngest students to fill in the form, and between 10 and 15 minutes in the case of the older students.
Each school decides which grades or levels can take part. Once the data have been gathered, two personalised reports are prepared, commenting in great detail on the results obtained. This information is provided confidentially to each school.
The investigation is open to all schools that want to know their students better in order to be able to face the educational challenges currently present in the Information Society.
To participate in the study, the school must have a computer room with internet connection in order to be able to access the questionnaire. In addition, it must have a teacher to help the students if they have any doubts.
Registration is open until the 16th of July, at the following website: www.generacionesinteractivas.org. Once there, select the options "Schools" / "Participate".
